On August 11, Nicholas turned 12 years old! We aren't doing friend birthday parties this year, but had a nice family celebration of the wonderful young man Nicholas is! We made his favorite dinner, beef tacos, and fashioned a Millennium Falcon cake along with homemade ice cream for dessert.
He loves to sketch and draw so he got some new materials to work with
And he received a new VT shirt, which happened to match Henry's :-)
So he passed along his out grown shirt to Grace. I don't have a picture, but Grace made him several "Best Brother Ever" signs for his desk :-)
Henry and Sam chipped in money together to buy him a "Star Wars battle pack," which he was very excited about!
Some new music to practice on the piano that hopefully will keep his interest!
Time to get some "Scrabble" on...Thanks Nana!!

You are growing into such a young gentleman and we could not be more proud of you! You remain a super bright boy, getting straight A's year after year in school. Your memory and your love for reading continue to impress all of us. You have read the entire Harry Potter series 3 times over now, almost all the Rick Riordan series, and also really love historical fiction novels. You have developed several good friendships and are a very loving big brother. You are obsessed with Star Wars and really love Legos still. You love to draw, especially Star Wars scenes. You love swimming and running as well as tossing the football with your brothers and playing basketball. You enjoy a good nerf gun war, playing chess, and Uno Attack. You are very interested in science, especially earth science and rocks. You are really enjoying Boy Scouts and racking up the merit badges lately! You love playing in the attic with your siblings but also really like your private time alone in your room to read or draw. We love you so very much Nicholas and are so proud of. you! We pray you continue to discover and develop your God given gifts and talents and use your light to shine God's love on all those around you. Happy Birthday sweetheart!
