Happy 7th Birthday Henry!!!

On February 22, 2019, Henry turned 7 years old.  On his actual birthday we celebrate as a family with his favorite dinner, chicken pot pie, and homemade cake and ice cream.  He requested a "Forest" themed cake this year "with apple trees, birds, animals and flowers".....so this is what I came up with :-)

Plant a Pizza Garden from godparents Aunt Kelly and Uncle Todd
Nature books and handmade cards from the Grays
He was wanting an Atlanta United sign for his room.

On the weekend, we held a party with all his friends at the Chattahoochee Nature Center

It started with an animal interaction, Henry chose to learn about the screech owl.
She was a rescue - she is missing one eye so wouldn't survive in the wild
Then they went on a nature hike to explore and learn about some of the local wildlife

Now this rowdy crowd needed so energy release...
So they had races across the field acting like different animals

Time for cake

A thumbs up from the birthday boy!!  Happy Birthday Henry!!

Dear Henry,

What a joy your are to have as our son!  We thank God every day for you!  As you continue to grow and mature, you remain a very unique and special little guy.  You are an old soul in a child's body.  We will often find you conversing with adults instead of kids and you will often choose to do yard work or cook over playing with toys or games.  Yard work remains your biggest passion - you take great pride in caring for our outdoors and in fact get very offended that we still pay someone to cut our grass (don't worry buddy - once you are old enough, it's all yours!). You also love service, especially at church and through the Knights of Columbus.  All the men in the Knights love joking around with you and you love being a part of any service project at the church as well as ushering.  Cub Scouts is also right up your ally right now - you love fishing and camping and just being outdoors in nature in general.  You do well in school - you work very hard but you have really become a great reader this year in first grade and are acing every math facts test.  You are a good friend to boys and girls alike at school and are known by them to be a very sweet and funny guy.  Your teacher also appreciates your canny sense of humor. At home you can have a hot temper and can be quite emotional at times but your big heart trumps all of that!  You love to be a helper at home and anything with tools or cooking utensils especially interests you.  You enjoy playing soccer, basketball and riding your bike.  You have a deep spiritual side to you and can pray straight from the heart, spontaneously, with ease.  We enjoy every minute with you and are honored to be your parents, watching and helping you grow and mature into such a sweet young boy!  Happy Birthday sweetheart!

We Love you,

Mommy and Daddy
