I will blog our family vacation in July in the next post, but here's an assortment of what else was going around the Pinto household in July.
We took a family hike one day at Kennesaw Mountain. There are several Civil War battle fields and monuments here so it's always nice to get in some nature, exercise, and history all at once! We hiked the Kolbe Farm trail.
We saw A LOT of deer along the way, and quite close - there's one right behind Sam in this picture.
"Mom take my picture"....always!
On July 4th, Henry and Sam participated in the annual decorated bike ride/parade in our neighborhood. Apparently Grace and Nicholas are now too cool to participate!?
Then we spent a few hours with friends at the neighborhood pool.
That evening one of our neighbors had a party in their backyard, complete with a pool and diving board. Grace made these yummy treats to bring along. They shot off some fireworks in their culled sac, but when there was a close call on safety, that ended quickly (and thankfully with no one hurt) and we ended up watching Roswell Fireworks from our neighborhood pool culdesac. They were shooting them off from Roswell Park for the first time this year, right across the street from us!
Henry attended a cool Basketball camp
Grace ran the 1500M at the Battle for the Peach Race - basically a GA/Carolina State Meet - And she placed 3rd!
We had our good friends the Nicolosi family over for dinner one evening.
Lots of great reading time all month long...Sam really progressed in his reading this summer!
Hard to tell from the pictures but Rory and all the kids had a fort building day - each with individual sections...and they all slept in them 1 night
Nicholas, as part of leadership requirements in Boy Scouts, was assigned to Henry's Weebelo Cub Scout den to be the Den Chief - he helps with planning events, teaching the boys, and here he is sorting all their earned requirements to award to them.
He led some cub scouts on a hike at Roswell Mill
Doing some teaching along the way
Cool nature finds!
At the ned of the month, we had to say goodbye to Rory! What a great summer we had with her and we are so thankful for all her tremendous help!
