The Great Smoky Mountains - Day 3

On Day 3 we entered the park through the Cherokee Orchard entrance and drove the Roaring Fork Nature trail Loop.  We made several stops for scenic views along the way and took 1 great 2.5mi hike to Grotto Falls - the kids had a blast climbing on all the rocks here.  We enjoyed lunch at Metcalf Bottoms where we also soaked out feet in the cold water of the Little River and hiked to the Little Greenbriar School.  In the afternoon we explored the old cabins of the Elkmont Historic District and then we hiked 2.6 mi RT to Laurel Falls.  We had dinner back at the cabin again this night.  Today was filled with some great hikes and spectacular water fall views!

Grotto Falls - you can walk behind it!
