January 2021

On the Feast of the Epiphany (January 6th), we gathered as a family to ask God's blessing on our home and family life for this new year of 2021.  We prayed that Jesus would invite himself to be a daily guest in our home.  Shawn marked our doorway with blessed chalk.

20 + C + M + B + 21

School masses were attended by 1 grade at a time only, this year due to Covid protocols, however Henry was still blessed to be able to read at mass when 3rd grade went.  He read loud and clear!

A typical day in our house full of boys

Grace and Nicholas entering GA Tech for swim meet where parents are not allowed to enter and watch in person due to Covid protocols

Nicholas and Grace both had the awesome opportunity to take Starts and Turns Clinic taught by 2 Olympic swimmers - here they are pictured with Amanda Wier!

Family game night - these two had some cool Domino creations!

Nicholas won the Martin Luther King Junior Essay contest at his school so was part of an Archdiocese Recognition Celebration via Zoom!

Nicholas' love for drawing has been inspiring little man Sam in his drawing lately :-)

Grace also loves to draw and color

Grace took a spill off her bike in the cul de sac and broke her distal radial bone  - Urgent care splinted it and then she went to CHOA ortho for a cast the next day.

She was a trooper through it all and never complained.

Cast was on for 3 weeks and then she was healed!

Nicholas spent a whole day cooking 3 meals and dessert for the family, as part of his reading merit badge, which required him to read an instructional book and follow the directions to make something.
Cuban Beef Pockets - yum!

Smores Coookie Bites!

Grace has been regularly cooking as well - this day she made French toast sausage bites from her kids cookbook.

Henry's scout den had a bird house making day

Great job!

Shawn and Chad rented a wood splitter one day and took care of our massive fallen oak tree in the front yard - we are set on firewood now!!!  The boys had a blast helping out!

Again - we regularly have these type of invaders around our home :-)

But we also have these sweet moments we cherish!!!
