A Fall Full of Fun!!

This fall has once again quite busy with kids' activities and family events.  Here are a few highlights….

We had a great time at our parish picnic this year…. good food, dunking booths, climbing walls, bucking bulls, playground, and cake walks…all with good friends…who could ask for more!?!  Here's Nicholas with 2 of his good friends, whose families we are good friends with as well.  This year, Shawn grilled burgers with the Knights as usual and Kimberly's parents were in town for it too which was an extra nice bonus!

Nicholas was honored to be a reader at the school mass hosted by the second grade in honor of Saint Mother Theresa.  He did a great job!  So proud of him!
Several weeks later, Grace was one of 3 kindergarteners chosen to be a "Hail Mary bead" in the annual school living rosary.  She was super excited!  She recited the Hail Mary into the microphone on her own in front of the whole school perfectly!  Great job sweetheart!

Soccer season was great this fall.  Henry played for the first time and was on the same team as Grace and his best buddy Colin.  We were so proud of Grace and Henry both.  Grace was like another child compared to last year (when she didn't even want to touch the ball)….she was the most aggressive player and highest scoring player on their team!  We were also super proud of Henry in his first season…he was never afraid of playing hard and going after the ball.  Way to go!
Nicholas also had a great soccer season as well!  He grew tremendously in his confidence and skill since last spring!  He really had a lot of fun with his team too!
While the boys went camping with Daddy, Grace and Samuel and Mommy went to the Annual Roswell Youth Day parade and after party and had a super fun time!!

Shawn, Nicholas and Henry went on the fall Cub scout camp out one weekend and had a blast fishing, canoeing, and playing games and doing skits by the camp fire.  The rest of us joined them for the campfire festivities one evening and of course the smores were a big hit!

We weren't able to squeeze in our annual trip to the apple orchard this year but we did get the pumpkin patch visit in.  The kids had a great time picking out their own mini pumpkins and gords!

Henry has been having great fun with his little buddies at school this year!
They visited St. George's Village, a nearby nursing home, to sing some fun halloween songs and wish the residents a Happy Halloween.  Henry and Colin were talking non stop to the residents…most of whom couldn't hear well or were half asleep, but the boys kept on talking and the residents smiled….what a great place for Henry to visit!!
First day of fall uniforms for Grace and Nicholas

Nicholas and Grace both performed wonderfully in their fall piano recital.  Grace played Twinkle D (right hand) and Nicholas played Cuckcoo and Little Playmates (both two hands).  This was Grace's first piano recital since starting lessons in late August and while she was nervous, she didn't let it show and performed like a little star!
We had an unusually warm fall so the leaves fell quite late and Henry was almost beside himself waiting for them.  When they finally started coming down…you never saw a happier boy…he was in his his zone raking every day and was only let down when the yard men came once a week and blew the leaves away!  He couldn't wait for more to fall!
Samuel had his first hair cut (outside of Daddy's cuts at home). He did great and was sure to tell everyone about the lollipop he got in the end!

Nicholas shot off a rocket for the first time this year at cub scout rocket day.  The good news is that is was one of the highest shot off, the bad news is, it went so high we couldn't find it to retrieve it!
Shawn was awarded the TSPMG Community Service Award at his company's annual business meeting. This is awarded to one person annually in the whole Georgia Region.  He was recognized for his great contributions to the community through directing the SPC 5K 3 years in row, through serving on the Embrace Board of Directors, and volunteering as a Clinical Professor teaching PA students full time for the past 23 years.  So proud of you honey!!!!!

Kimberly enjoyed a lovely evening with good friends at Advent by Candlelight….a night of food, prayer and reflection hosted by the SPC Women's Club several weeks prior to the start of, and in preparation for, Advent.
Cub scouts had a great hike at Leita Thompson trail this fall.
