Nicholas Turns 4 !!!!!!

Dear Nicholas,

On your fourth birthday, your father and I are filled with joy to see the bright, loving boy you have become.  We have loved every moment of the past four years as we've watched you eagerly learn and grow.  Our love for you runs deeper than we can ever tell or show you.  We are so proud of you!  You light our lives! 

Here's a little about you at this age...........
*  You weigh 34 lbs and are 40 inches tall.
*  You are a very energetic, active boy who is very rarely ever shy.
*  You love the outdoors, especially running, playing in the sandbox, riding bikes and swinging.
*  You are super loving, always hugging and kissing us and are known to give hugs to everyone around you.
*  You are a wonderful big brother to all three of your siblings....you play with Grace SO well and tell us you miss her when she takes her naps, the two of you are almost inseparable at this point........you are so helpful with Henry and love to sing to him and tell him stories about trains and construction to entertain him......you always include Juliana when telling people who is in your family, you talk about her frequently, and pray to her nightly.
*  You LOVE construction right now.  You live and breath to see and talk about dump trucks, big diggers, cranes, etc.  You spend most of your play time "constructing" different buildings with blocks, books, anything at your disposal.  You like to call yourself an architect and a construction worker.  We have been impressed by your creativity and ingenuity
*  You also really like trains.  You know all the Thomas the Train characters and spend a lot of time in the playroom making up elaborate stories with your trains.  Your favorites are Thomas and Cranky the Crane.
*  You still like for us tell you a song and a story each night before bed.  Your favorite is daddy's stories about "The Mice in the Vents."
*  You continue to have a huge vocabulary.  You hear a new word one day and are using it correctly the next.  You like to talk too!  You talk our ears off every day and we love it!
*  You still really love books.  You love for us to read to you and you are also reading some beginner's books now by yourself...you easily sound out most 3-4 letter words and can even read bigger ones with a little coaching.
*  You can count to 100 and will add and subtract small numbers 1-10.
*  You can write most of your upper and lower case letters.  You write your name quite legibly now.
*  You are still a great eater...will eat any vegetable or "health" food.  Of course you do love sweets too!
*  You are a Daddy's boy and say that Daddy and Grace are your best friends.
*  You still love to come in our bed early each morning to snuggle.  You are such a loving little guy!
