I mentioned in a previous blog how Nicholas has been Mr. Christmas this year, truly living up to his namesake, St. Nicholas......well yesterday, he proved this to be true once again. I was reading books to him and he requested I read "Twas The Night Before Christmas." Even though the season is over I said sure and started to read to him. Almost immediately he started reciting the story with me, word for word, exactly how it is written (the long original version, not the condensed) and proceeded to say the entire story! He has that entire story memorized perfectly, every single line! I could not believe it! We did read it quite a bit around Christmas time and it was also in a song form on some of our holiday CD's, but I myself could not recite it nearly that well! When Shawn got home, Nicholas "read" it for him perfectly too! We knew he had a good memory but we had no idea he'd memorize such a long complicated poem on his own accord! You really do amaze us Nicholas...we love you buddy!
