I have no picture to document this, but July 2nd was my last day working at Georgia Breast Care. My entire career, up to this point, has been caring for patients at this wonderful practice. Since 2006, I've had the honor of journeying alongside patients in their breast cancer journey, from high risk screening, to diagnosis, to treatment, to survivorship. I have loved every aspect of my job. I am very grateful for the many years of experience and the relationships I've built at GBC. However, with a change in management, things changed and it became an healthy work environment. It was a difficult decision to leave, but one I am very much at peace with! I will spend the next 6 weeks soaking up time with the kids while they are home for the summer, then on to the next work adventure......
Each year, on the 4th of July, our neighborhood of Kiveton Park holds a bike parade for the kids from 1 cul de sac to another. You can use any "wheels" not just bikes and there is a contest for the most patriotic decorated wheels. This year Sam chose to have his roller blades be his wheels (no surprise as he uses these all the time since getting them for his birthday!) and this is how he decorated himself. No surprise then that he won the award! He won a $40 Chick Fila gift card - hooray for Samuel and his patriotic spirit!!
The bike parade all assembled
I couldn't believe it..the deer came onto the porch to eat my flowers..so bold and so frustrating!!
I decided to update the boys jack and Jill bathroom during my 1 mo off between jobs - this involved treating the mold on the ceiling, scrubbing the bathroom top to bottom, repainting the ceiling and all the walls, and updating their shower curtain and accessories. Samuel helped paint a little.
No more teal walls with fun fish theme… now big boy nautical theme. Grace attended a fun birthday sleepover for her friend Victoria, including a visit to escape room and dinner out.
Grace and her sweet friend Anna at morning swim practice at Roswell Park
Sam's friend Joey invited him to attend the Fanfest at the All Star game village - so fun!!
Grace made cuts ( in 200, 400, 800 and 1500 free) to compete in the Futures meet for the first time! Grace and I spent 5 days in Ocala, FL for the meet and it was so fun! It was a super fast national meet where she was competing against some of the top high school and collegiate swimmers in the nation. Her swim Atlanta team brought 62 swimmers and our team placed 2nd after the Sarasota Sharks. Grace herself had a PR in every event she swam, including 2 relays!! She made the podium ( top 8) and got 3 medals! We are so proud of her!
Samuel had his friend Ross over for a play date. They made homemade pretzels!
