September 2024

Samuel loves baseball and so we agreed to enter into the travel baseball world (I know, crazy)!!  The rest of his rec team were all moving to various travel teams at this 10U level, so Sam tried out and made the Roswell BSBL Pirates!  This was his "signing day."

Last year, for Grace's 13th birthday, we gave her the gift of a room makeover - however it took us a year to get around to doing it - but finally, just before her 14th birthday, we repainted her walls and all her furniture, got new bedding, and new decor, and it turned out great!

After a swim meet one weekend, I took her to Ponce City Market with some of her friends for lunch.

Grandma came into town for the BT Grandparents day with Nicholas.  She said it was such a nice visit and tour of the school.  Nicholas was so excited to have her there!

She captured this picture of him going over to the table of Bridget (the girl he recently asked to Homecoming) to meet her family.

Henry was elected by his peers to be on Student Council as the Chaplain

He took office in September

Nicholas (with his buddies from BT swim team) and Grace (with her Swim Atlanta teammates) both swam in the Swim Across America event - a 1 mile open water swim in Lake Lanier to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research.

They swam in honor of Nick Colley again this year, a 5th grade boy at their school currently in treatment for Leukemia.

Aunt Debbie made the trip down with Grandma and it was so great they were in town for several big events (BT grandparent day, Swim Across America, Wingfoot).

Henry's class visited Atlanta Community Food Bank for their 7th grader service project.

Henry ran the Wingfoot cross country meet again this year - always a favorite meet!

He earned 15th place out of about 500 kids (age 14 and under)

The Alpha Crush boys team earned third place - a great showing for the boys! (the girls team won first place for the 4th year in a row - Grace did not run this year b/c she is now focusing on swimming).

At the race, Henry met Nico Young, who recently ran the 10K in the Paris Olympics.
We had some fun Rumme games when Mom and Aunt Debbie were in town.
We took a quick trip to MO for my Grandma’s funeral ( see other post about her).  While there, the kids enjoyed time with their chickens!
We celebrated Dr Daryl Tookes’ retirement. Shawn has worked with him at Kaiser for the past 16 years and greatly respects him as a surgeon and as a good and faithfilled man. He will be missed by the general surgery department!
Nicholas was asked to altar serve at the SPC 25th anniversary mass with the Bishop.
