This summer we decided to explore some national parks for the first time and what an amazing wonderful trip we had! On July 2nd, we flew as a family (for the the time ever) into Las Vegas, rented a car and drove to stay 4 nights in a log cabin on a bison ranch just outside the east entrance to Zion National Park, UT. While there, we spent 1 day exploring Bryce Canyon National Park and 2 days exploring Zion National Park. Then we drove west a few hours to stay 1 night in Page, AZ where we got to check out Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Lake Powell with Glen Canyon Dam. Then we headed to the south rim of the Grand Canyon and stayed in the park at Maswik Lodge for 2 nights while exploring this unreal place. We flew out of Phoenix to home on July 9th. We hiked A LOT! and to be honest Shawn and I had a hard time keeping up with the kids - they were hiking machines, but we all loved every minute of it! We saw so many beautiful landforms and a new part of the country the kids had never visited. It was an absolutely amazing trip! A trip of a lifetime! What a great way to see God's glory, majesty and power through the beauty of nature! We are so grateful the opportunity for this special family trip!
