Nicholas, Grace and Henry had a fantastic cross country season and they ended it in mid December by competing in the USATF Junior Olympic Nationals in Paris, KY. It was a road trip for Shawn and those three (while I stayed back with Sam for all his Futsal and basketball games). The weather was crazy! They had had so much rain the days before the the mud was super hard to even walk in. Then, on the day of the event, storms were rolling in, temperatures were dropping rapidly, and even started hailing at one point and they had to temporarily pull the kids off the course for safety. It was not ideal conditions for running at all! But we are so proud of all three for persevering and running great races! Super strong work kiddos!
look at the mud!
Ready to run!
Right after his race
Henry and Coach Mathew love to joke around
The team had a tent with a heater inside but it was still super cold!
The starting line of each race looked like this , 400-500 kids all lined up and ready to run together across these horse farm fields.
After her race..
The mud...at least she kept her shoes on this time!
After his race!
We are so proud of you guys!
Thank you Coach Matthew for a great season!
They had an opportunity to visit the Cathedral in Lexington KY for mass.
And Shawn also drove them through University of Kentucky to see the college campus.
