In addition to the holidays, November and December were full of lots of other beautiful memories as well....
Henry's 4th grade class put on a Saints play on the feast of All Saints Day. Henry was one of the priests in the play. He was so excited for this role and performed perfectly!!
In addition, each 4th grader researched a saint, wrote a small paper on him/her, and created an artistic reproduction of them in art class. Henry had St. Isadore. At the All Saints Day school mass, they processed up with them.
Shawn and Cheri are teaching the Boy Scout Ad Alteri Dei Religious Emblem class which Nicholas is participating in. It's a year long program where they meet twice monthly, growing in knowledge of their faith and in service to their community.
For Veteran's day, the Boy Scouts joined the Knights of Columbus in a flag retirement ceremony for the parish.
The Braves won the World Series!!!! The city held a big parade on a Friday and we let Nicholas skip school to join his friend Caleb to attend. What an awesome opportunity!! Go Braves!
The kids at school got to wear Braves attire that day!
Grace has been a proud, hard working Safety Patrol member this year, volunteering 3 mornings a week in carpool, opening doors and wishing people a great day!
Henry and his buddies found a cool new card trading shop and have gone a few times together to buy and trade baseball and football cards.
Grace read at the school mass
Nicholas earned STAR rank in Boy Scouts
Cub Scouts Christmas party - Henry's den
Samuel started in a winter Futsal League (indoor soccer essentially)
Grandma came to visit for Grandparents Day at school and then got to stay over a week to spend time together and celebrate her birthday, Thanksgiving, our Anniversary, and Juliana's Birthday. We loved every minute with her!!!
Happy Birthday Grandma!
Fun crafts with Gigi
Grandma organized and supervised the decorating the gingerbread this year...I'd say they are the prettiest ever!!
Grandma brought us a variety of animal statues along with a St Francis statue from Great Grandma's backyard, since she is in process of moving to assisted living.
We visited Juliana's gravesite on her Birthday - 12 years in heaven on November 26 - we miss you every single day sweet baby girl!
The SPC 5K was back in person this year and Shawn and Henry were back at helping to setup early in the morning - here's the Waffle House crew.
All 4 of the kids ran the race for the first time ever. They all did great! Nicholas was the 4th overall male and 2nd in his age group. Grace was 1st fastest female overall. Henry was 1st in his age group and Samuel was 4th (both in the 10 and under group). Mom and I enjoyed walking and seeing the kids do so well. Shawn helped organize, set up, and put on the whole event. It was a small crowd, and it was very cold, but it was still so fun!
Sam and his buddy Jackson ran the whole race together. This picture is taken in the finish shoot, 50 feet from the finish line, and Jackson ended up beating Sam in a photo finish for 3rd place in the 10 and under!
We celebrated the Feast of Christ the King with our Regnum Christi community.
At the start of Advent, Queen of Angels held a family Advent wreath decorating night complete with the lighting the school Christmas lights and hot chocolate
We were blessed with a visit from Aunt Beth and Uncle Kevin! What a fun time playing games and hanging out.
And Uncle Kevin brought this awesome gift for Henry - a Reel Lawn Mower he bought and revamped for him to use! Henry is so super pumped and can't wait to use it in the spring.
