On Aug 11, 2021 we officially had a teenager in our family! To celebrate his birthday, Nicholas chose to invite 3 friends, Caleb, Charlie and Jacob, to go to a Braves game together. They had a great time with a Braves win and then came back to the house for pizza and homemade ice cream cookie sandwiches. They even had time for a little whiffle ball in the cul-de-sac and playing outside. On the weekday of his actual birthday we had beef tacos for dinner and gave him our family gifts. Dear Nicholas,
We could not be more proud of the young man you are currently. You are very bright, easy going, kind, creative, and hard working. You continue to excel in academics and are consistently a high straight A student. We've noticed your peers and your teachers all respect your smarts :-). But you are also very well rounded. This year you have worked hard in Boy Scouts, earning more merit badges than any other kid at your level and while doing so, have learned so many great skills and had so many cool experiences in scouts. You have also been an athlete in 2 sports - Swimming and Track/Cross Country - almost year round for the past year and we've really enjoyed watching you grow and succeed in both these sports! You have really come into your own recently, and learned what you love and where your strengths are. It is so wonderful to watch you grow and learn and excel! You have developed some great quality friendships at school and in your extracurriculars which is also helping you to have a great middle school experience thus far. You still love Star Wars (I'd say obsessed) and Legos. You love to play football with your brothers in the front yard, love a good family movie or game night, love to read, and love to draw. You play with your siblings well and have even started babysitting them for short periods of time recently. You are very responsible and a great big brother. We feel so honored to be blessed with you as our son and pray that this upcoming year continues to bring you much joy, health and success in all you endeavor! We know you are made for great things!
