Fun in the Summer Sun!

It was a fun and busy summer of 2018.  Shawn's niece, Megan, drove back with us from Virginia and stayed with us for the summer to be our nanny.  So the kids had an absolute blast with their cousin throughout the whole summer, and we greatly appreciated her help!  The kids also stayed busy with swim team (Nicholas,Grace and Henry) in May and June, summer camps, and play dates with friends.  Here are some snapshots of our summer....

This year we switched swim teams and swam for Edenwilde and what a great experience it was!  Henry went from only swimming a few yards at the start of the season to competing in meets in both freestyle and back stroke and doing great!  Grace's confidence and skill grew leaps and bounds, and Nicholas also did very well and enjoyed being on the team with his good buddy Caleb.

So proud of him for practicing hard and growing through it!  I think little brother is proud of him too :-)
They loved Coach Mary!
Nicholas and Grace competed at the end of the season Semifinals at Georgia Tech pool

Afterward Shawn treated us all to pizza at Antico Pizza with Gelato to follow...mmm!

Grace really loved having Megan here this summer.

Fun outdoor time
Lego club meeting
On the Fourth of July, we went blueberry picking at Berry Patch Farms...our yummy summer tradition

So great, Megan could join us too!

We watched Roswell firweworks, that evening,  from the Trader Joes parking lot....not the most exciting location but we were surrounded by good friends so it was wonderful!
On July 4th weekend we attended a block party at our friend's house, the Holowka Family..what a blast....a pig roast, huge potluck, bouncy houses, yard games....wow!!

This summer we also tackled the job of switching all the kids bedrooms around...which involved painting 2 of the rooms...it was a big chore but well worth it...now Henry and Sam share the bunkbed room and they share a bathroom with Nicholas who has his own room.  Grace moved into her own room with her own bathroom.
Chick Fila Cow Appreciation Day
Roswell Summer Puppet Series...always a fun time
This summer, was Henry's turn to spend a week with Grandma and Grandpa all by himself (see next post) so Grandma and Grandpda were nice enough to drive to Atlanta to pick him up, and an extra special treat...the Grays came for a visit with them!!

When Henry and Nicholas were at camps, Grace and Sam and I enjoyed a fun day at the Sprayground.
...complete with a picnic and popsicles!
At the end of the summer, Kelly flew in to drive back to Virginia with Megan.  What a treat to have her visit for a few days!  Henry was especially excited to have time with his godmother.
Monkey bread with Megan on one of her last days

We went to our first Braves game at the new Suntrust park...what a fun time!!!

It was a Q of A night so it was great to hang out with tons of other families we are good friends with.
