Well, the last two months have been as busy as ever with Samuel. He continues to be a VERY active little boy. He's been enjoying playing outside, swimming, and vacationing. He did pretty well on our long car rides with summer to Hilton Head and Virginia, and was able to meet lots of family for the first time on both trips. He is a running, jumping, climbing, ball throwing kind of kid. He loves to say "1,2 Jump" and then attempt to jump off anything! He is fearless around the water and will jump right in the pool if we didn't watch him carefully. He thoroughly enjoyed the beach and the ocean this summer! He still really loves to play with balls! He likes to play catch, roll the ball, baseball, soccer, and most especially basketball lately…he asks over and over throughout the day to play "basket" and can never seem to get enough. Even at our neighborhood pool, which has a basketball net in it, he wants to "shoot basket" over and over. In the climbing department, he has been scaling new things (unfortunately) such as the built in book cases, the bunk bed ladder, and onto bathroom sinks.
Samuel is also a quick learner and a big talker. He is stringing several two word phrases together regularly now such as "happy day'" (whenever he is happy), "sit down" (usually said when he is NOT sitting and knows he should be), and "the end" at the conclusion of each book we read. He can count to 10 and joins in reciting the ABC's saying every 4-5 letters for us. He recognizes letters everywhere we go and will say "H I J" each time he sees letters. He tells us when something is "funny" and also when he is having "fun." He tells us at least half the time when he needs he diaper changed, saying "diaper change." He likes to be silly and say "hehehaha" a lot. He does not like to have a dirty mouth when eating and will always ask for a "napkin" if there is something on it. He continues to love books! His favorites right now are "Roadwork", "Good Night Little Bear", and Big Red Barn." He knows all the books in his basket by name and finishes the sentences on every page in many of them!
Samuel you are a sharp little guy, who needs really sharp parents to keep up with you! We are so thankful you are our son and we love you!
