Happy Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we planned something very different - we spent the whole week in Florida - thanks to Shawn's work conference!  Grace and Henry ran in the the regional XC meet in Lakeland the Saturday before Thanksgiving.  From there we continued south a couple more hours to spend the week in Cape Coral, FL which is just outside of Ft Myers on the Gulf side.  We rented a house on a lake with a heated pool, kayaks, bikes, and plenty of space for us to all just relax.  We were about 20-25 min from the beach in several directions.  We spent a couple days at the beach - 1 on Ft Myers Beach and the other  on Sanibel, but the rest of the week we just relaxed, watched football, swam, biked, kayaked, fished, read books, did puzzles, played games and had movie nights.  It was a much needed break and just perfect!!
Sam and Henry enjoyed fishing off the dock at our house but unfortunately did not catch anything.

Beautiful sunsets
At the beach the boys always enjoy building things!

Sanibel has so many shells!!

On Thanksgiving morning all 4 of the kids ran in the Ft Myers Turkey Trot!  Grace ran with Samuel so he would not be alone.

They all placed well in their age groups (except Grace b/c she was running lower with Sam)

This was our Thanksgiving day feast - all the traditional turkey and sides - but pool side in bathing suits this year. (I made them put shirts on for dinner :-)
