Nana Whitty

WELL DONE, GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.  YOU WERE FAITHFUL WITH A FEW THINGS, I WILL PUT YOU IN CHARGE OF MANY THINGS; ENTER THE JOY OF YOUR MASTER.

- Matthew 25:23

Shawn's grandmother, Genevieve Whitty, who we dearly call Nana Whitty, lived a long and abundant life.  She peacefully passed away, at the age of 106 years old, on October 20, 2021.  Her faith, strength, grace, and poise were an inspiration to all of us who knew her.   She left behind 7 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.  We will always love and miss you Nana Whitty!

This photo was taken 1 month before she passed

Shawn and all his siblings traveled to Westport, Massachusetts for the funeral.  It was a beautiful celebration of her life!!!

They served as the pallbearers.

Shawn's brother Shannon played the bagpipes for the funeral.

Auntie Dale was her tireless caregiver and constant companion for many many years, which I'm sure helped to contribute to how long Nana was healthy and happy.  Pictured are Nana's 3 living children, Auntie Dale, Uncle David, and Shawn's Mom Joyce (the 4th sibling Edward passed at age 30 from ALS).

This was their home place.

ETERNAL REST GRANT UNTO THEM, O LORD, AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON THEM.

WE LOVE YOU ALWAYS NANA WHITTY!
