This year, June was back to being full of summer fun summer time activities, camps and pools! All 4 kids swam on the Edenwilde summer swim team which practiced 5 mornings a week. Nicholas and Grace continued with their Swim Atlanta Club long course season as well which practiced 4 mornings a week (yes they had double workouts 4 days a week). Track season for Nicholas and Grace went all the way through mid July so they still had 3 day a week runs in the evenings with a handful of meets on the weekends. Henry went to a week long Cub Scout day camp with his whole den and Nicholas went to a week long sleep away Boy Scout camp for the first time. Both had amazing adventures and earned a lot of requirements and merit badges. Plus, June was full of regular library visits, reading time, and good old fashioned full at home!
Henry and his den mates building tables.
The finished product - great job boys!
The past year of club swim really showed for Nicholas and Grace on the summer team meets - they both crushed it this year earning first in nearly every single event they swam! Plus, they both had a lot of friends on the Edenwilde team so had so much fun - this was all so great to see! Both Nicholas and Grace have really found their passion and joy in swimming (and running as well).
It was Samuel's first year swimming on summer swim team and he had a lot of fun and really progressed in his swimming, especially in back stroke!
Henry also had a lot of friends on the swim team so enjoyed it a lot. His strongest stroke is the breast stroke and he really improved this summer as well.
The Schoeneckes hosted us at their neighborhood pool for what's become the annual pizza pool party - always a great time with great friends!
Nicholas going away for a week at Scout camp!
He had an amazing time at camp.... white water rafting wa sone of the highlights!
As part of earning his Wildlife Survival Merit Badge, he spent an overnight alone in the woods with only the clothes on his back and a water bottle. He had to make his own shelter and fire. This is him the next morning!
He also completed the 1 mile swim in the lake! Way to go!
Fun times
