Labor Day Hike
We had a lovely relaxing Labor Day weekend - it was a good mix of rest, family fun time and getting a few random chores/errands done around the house. The highlight of the weekend, though, was our family hike up Blood Mountain - the 6th tallest mountain in GA - this was by far our most strenuous hike together as a whole family and it was super fun! We hiked the Byron Herbert Trail up the mountain, climbing 700ft per mile on a pretty rocky terrain - all but the first 7/10 of the mile is actually part of the Appalachian Trail. It was a pretty strenuous 4.5 mile hike, especially for a 4 year old, but it didn't phase little man one bit - we had to continually remind him not to run and hop from rock to rock! We hope this will be the first of many bigger family hikes to come.
