Samuel 15 Months

This month, Samuel has been a sponge, soaking up and learning all kinds of new things.  He learned his first, second and third baby sign (please, more, and all done) and is now using them regularly.  He has also learned how to verbally say "Jesus", kind of.  Each time we pass a picture of Him in our hallway, he points  and says "Jesus."  He can now tell us what a sheep, cow, snake, rooster, lion, and cat say and will often start saying the sounds on his own when he sees pictures of those animals in books.   Speaking of books, he has become VERY interested in books this month.  More than anything else right now, he loves to bring us books and plop in our lap and wait for us to read them to him.  He sits and listens really well to ones his likes a lot, and only lasts a few pages in the others, before he goes and gets another one and plops back down.  His favorite books right now are Wheels on the Bus, The Foot Book, Cows Say Moo Can You?, Trains, Where's Baby's Belly Button?, and Baby's Early Words.    He can now point to his head, hair, teeth, mouth and feet when asked to.  He understands more than we realize I think.  When someone mentions a drink, he will go to the cabinet, get a cup and take it over to the refrigerator and hold it up to try to fill it with water.  Or once when Shawn told Nicholas to get his shoes on because it was time to leave, Samuel went and got Nicholas' shoes and stood by the door waiting for him.  In the motor department this month he has progressed from walking to running and also has earned to clap well.  He is quite a little dancer when he hears music, it's some of the cutest baby dancing I've ever seen (but I am a bit bias I suppose :-)   Samuel has gotten 2 more teeth this month, for a grand total of 6.  He remains a very busy and happy little guy!

It's so funny!  In our driveway which is quite sloped, he will walk along and when he senses it sloping down, he gets on down on his hands and knees and scoots down backwards, just like we've taught him to do going down steps :-)
A ball is still his favorite toy
