The Pinto Family: Samuel 8 Months Old

Samuel has had a busy month with many firsts! Among his firsts this month are, his first puppet show, first time in the swimming pool, first time at the spray ground, first time eating finger foods, first time crawling, first time sitting up on his own from a laying down position, and first time flying on an airplane and meeting Great Grandpa and Grandma, Uncle Andy, Aunt Kelsey and cousin Asher. And he loved every one of those things...except the food! Yes, he continues to refuse any and all food! Other than the few spoonfuls of baby food and the occasional yogurt melt snuck into his mouth when he opens it to put a toy in, he is still exclusively nursing....and he seems to want to keep it that way despite our many efforts to get him to eat anything! He also continues to show his strong will in the sleep department...as in refusing to do much of it :-( He is primarily a cat napper during the day and at night still wakes several times each night. Yes, he is a challenging little guy, however despite all this, he is a quite healthy and happy baby! He loves to give big wet kisses on your chin, and just beams when Mommy or Daddy walk in the room. He enjoys being entertained by his brothers and sisters and actually seems to like to play quite rough with them. Grace, in particular, can always get a smile and a giggle from him. When we say the word "bath" he smiles big and waves his arms in excitement so it was no surprise that he has loved the swimming pool both times he has been in it this month. At the spray ground, he just loved splashing in the fountains, not seeming to mind at all that he was splashing his face and whole self over and over. But, for sure, his new love this month is his love for crawling! Yes, he is really on the move now! He gets up on all 4's and rocks, then plops down on his belly and army crawls away across the room. It is so funny! He is now following us from room to room, opening doors and drawers, and getting into a whole host of new things! He is enjoying the exploration his new found mobility brings him :-) We just love watching him grow and learn each day and are soaking up each sweet little snuggle he loves to give!!!

Into everything these days....he found my gift bags in the craft room while I was doing school work with his big brothers and sister.

....found the tupperware cabinet while I was trying to make dinner

....now he followed me into my bathroom looking for more mischief!

And this is what he does next...pushes the spoon away...it's a messy battle every meal time!

Excited to be on an airplane for the first time. He was an excellent little traveler! He nursed, slept, and played on the flights to STL and back and never fussed a bit! It was joy traveling with him!
